Accessibility: Full accessibility by foot and car with views from the main road through the industrial estate

Material: Cast concrete

Description: Arena Sundial as a large, 3.6 metre-high sundial in cast concrete. This is not only a sculpture that takes pride in its form, but also a fully functioning sundial with adjustments made for the angle of the axis of the earth, the distance from GMT and other factors. Through reading the sculpture you can tell the time in both British Summer Time and Greenwich Mean Time. Inscribed into the cast concrete is the Equation of Time, used to determine the exact time at a location and used when producing sundials. The artists Migdal and Russell have both worked with sundials in various locations for public institutions and private individuals.
