Description: An winged man looks over all those who walk along The Green Way, protecting the animals and people. The carving is one of the “Guardians of The Green Way” by the artist Nick Garnett that was commissioned by The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in 2012. The Green Way is a network of recreational paths running between Cookham and Bray. Several sculptures run along the pathway including Angel. The large wings of the guardian stretch around the back of the sculpture, its tips resting above the head of the guardian. The guardian is hooded, but its soft and welcoming face visible. Their eyes are closed and their mouth is to one side. The arms and hands of the sculpture push their jacket closed and reach down towards the ground that which the angel-like guardian is connected to.
