Contemporary Sculpture

Contemporary sculpture is classified as a three-dimensional object that takes up space and volume. These are often free-standing works that are viewed in the round. Sculpture can be made from a variety of techniques including carving, casting, modelling and constructing. Contemporary sculpture, compared to other sculpture, does not always have a set objective, but can be an exploration of material and process. Contemporary sculpture could also be classified as produced in the last 50 years.
