Description: The Maidenhead Boy stands tall at the top end of Maidenhead High Street, representing the elements of Maidenhead. The boy, who was modelled on Karpinska’s young son, holds a boat to represent Maidenhead’s location near to water. The sculptural restoration and symbolism comes at a time that proves exciting for the waters with the continued Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Project. The bronze plinth on which the boy stands on includes the coat of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) as well as a swan and a depiction of the family Godayn seal. Restored in 2005, the statue continues to represent the elements of Maidenhead.
