Description: The large bronze statue stands tall in the centre of Station Square Roundabout, greeting those who enter and travel through reading. King Edward VII is depicted in his coronation robes with the sceptre in his right hand, and the orb in his left. The highly detailed statue sits on a polished granite plinth that has corner scroll balusters, and re-entrant cornice. Wade was a specialist in sculpting royalty and politicians.
