Description: The standing bronze figure of Prince Christian Victor of Schleswig-Holstein in captains’ uniform is considered to be a true representation by all those who were acquainted with him as a young solder. Also known as Christian Victor Albert Louis Ernst Anton, he was the eldest son of Princess Helena, third daughter of Queen Victoria. The Prince died in 1900 and the statue now stands where it is overlooked by Windsor Castle, where he was born in 1867. The life-like statue that looks out into the road is set in a Portland stone columned aedicule.
